Is there Universal Forgiveness? Of course there is, everyone is forgiven – it’s already happened. Jesus took our sins to the cross and died so our sins would be forgiven; thereby giving rise to universal forgiveness. So I say yes, there is universal forgiveness.
But, does that mean everyone goes to heaven? I have to say I don’t know, but I hope so. But there are a lot of challenges to that question. For example, if it means everyone goes to heaven, that means Hitler, Kim Jong-Il, Moamar Quddafi and Osama Bin Laden; you see where I am going with this don’t you? Since we are all sinners, are we any different than them in God’s eyes? Remember, God says that “If you sin against one commandment, you sin against all.”
Additionally, if we knew for a fact that everyone will go to heaven, wouldn’t that mean we could do whatever we want with no consequences for our actions? Can you imagine? This would be one very dangerous and crazy planet to live on. Total chaos. That doesn’t mean we won’t all go to heaven, it means we don’t know; and who is crazy enough to gamble that away?
It’s like that old saying “I would rather live my life as if the is a God and find out there isn’t, than live my life as if the is no God and find out there is a God.
Let’s look at this logically. There is a heaven, there is a hell, God is real and so is the devil. In my humble opinion, it isn’t logical that there aren’t residents in both places. We know what the requirements are to get to heaven. Believe in God, Jesus your Saviour and follow God’s commandments.
But what are the the entrance requirements for hell? Obviously disbelief, continuous sin without true repentence and not loving your neighbor as yourself. But is there more?
I don’t know about you, but I believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I am truly sorry for all my sins and I pretty much love everyone. I have no enemies that I am aware of and for those who have done me wrong, I have forgiven them. I have asked God to come into my life and to do with me as He will. He is the potter and I am the clay.
Mold me Lord to be what you want!
