The Way out

We all sin.  We all make excuses for why we sin.  We don’t have to sin, there is a way out.

Sin happens when we are tempted and we succumb to that temptation.  We feel powerless against temptation.  There was a comedian in the 1970’s named Flip Wilson who always used to say “the devil made me do it”. He was right.  But there is a way out.

The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:11;13: “11 Now all[a] these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

God will not let us be tempted beyond our ability to resist.  When we are tempted, if we simply pause and pray, we CAN resist temptation.  Granted sometimes the temptation appears to great to avoid, but if we are true to ourselves and faithful to God, we will do the right thing.

Don’t let anyone, not a family member, a friend or anyone put you in that position, but if they do, remember, pause and pray, and then do what is right.

Mumbles says,

Keep the faith, pause and pray!

God’s Peace!
