Christmas Spirit

I don’t know why, but as of today, I still don’t feel the old Christmas Spirit.  It’s sad to be without it.  But I’m not sure how to get it back.

Used to be that starting around Thanksgiving every year, I would start to get a warm feeling all over, knowing that something was coming.  There was something around the corner and it was so strong you could see it, smell it, touch it. The joy of Christmas!

But these days, with all the crud going on in our world, it’s hard to be jolly.  We have a dysfunctional government, they can’t get together to save this country because of bipartisan politics.  We have all these sexual abuse scandals going on at our colleges.  People stealing presents from peoples front door or their homes or their cars.  There is just so much junk out there.

I don’t recall any one saying Merry Christmas or even happy holidays so far this year.  I am not the only one who is missing the Christmas Spirit, you can see it on the faces of so many people.  They too are tired of all the junk that distracts us from being jolly at Christmas.

I think there is a conspiracy going on.  There are any number of people out there who don’t believe in Christmas, and as such, they don’t want anyone else believing in it either.

But fear not, I WILL find it, and I will find it in time for Christmas eve.  I can’t live without it, and I shouldn’t have to either.  So for all you Scrooges out there, I thumb my nose at you.

For those of you who believe, spread the word.  Merry Christmas to all of us.  For unto us a child is born, unto us a Savior is given.

Mumbles says,

God’s peace!

Amen my friend. It is hard to believe that we actually have to “fight” for the right to say Merry Christmas or witness all the MADNESS of finding that “perfect” gift for someone, when the PERFECT gift was given to the whole world on that cold winter night in Bethlehem. I for one will never stop saying Merry Christmas and with a loud voice and a heart full of love, I wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and pray that you have many more to come. Peace to you and your family. Rich Quinn
