Chief of Sinner’s Though I be…

William McComb wrote the hymn Chief of Sinners Though I be, based his song on Romans 5:8 which says “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  As the chief of sinners, I could hear no sweeter words than “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We may mean well, but you are also probably aware of the phrase “The road to hell is paved with Good  Intentions”.  I stand guilty as charged.  I have sinned so often, and I can only throw myself at the feet of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If you are fighting the evil one day in and day out, do what Joseph M. Scriven said in his song “What a Friend we have in Jesus”…”Take it to the Lord in Prayer.

Mumbles says,

Repent and let go of it and let God.

God’s peace!
