To tolerate or not, that is the question.
I was reading an article by Billy Graham, talking about Tolerance, and it was like a slap in the face.
According to Reverend Graham, tolerance means liberal and broad-minded, thus, by my estimation, intolerance means conservative and open-minded. I use open-minded because an intolerant person is willing to hear both sides of the issue; and then decide the best course of action. Tolerance on the other hand being broad-minded tends to mean “I’ll try anything once, and somethings twice”.
I don’t consider myself to be a prude, but there are somethings I will not tolerate, period.
Reverend Graham mentioned some things we are tolerant of, but should not be. Things like divorce, alcoholism, immorality, wickedness in high places and godlessness.
I am not tolerant of things like child abuse, animal abuse, politics, cheating, and people refusing to work because the government is going to take care of them. There is also the selling/trading of human beings (mostly children), child pornography, forced prostitution. It’s sad, but we are more tolerant of these things than one would ever guess. Some estimates are that in the last 20 years, up to 300,000 children have been sold for slavery or sex.
According to Force 4 Compassion 3287 people are sold or kidnapped per day. Also, according to them, sex slavery generates 32 billion dollars in profits each year. Tolerable? NO WAY.
We all need to become more aware of these crimes and demand action by the world’s law enforcement agencies. But I digress.
Mumbles says, STOP THE MADNESS! This is all too crazy to tolerate.
God Help Us!
